Game 74 of 82: Utah Jazz at Minnesota Timberwolves (33-41)
** Quin Snyder on the game and the Jazz’s defense
There was a stretch with our bench where there was more communication in, like, a five-minute period. You know, we had a small lineup. I think Jeremy [Evans] was in at the “five,” and guys were just scrapping and scrambling and talking, and that’s, you know, no matter who’s on the floor, no matter who’s hurt, you know, who’s playing, that’s what you wanna see, and it was good to see our guys competing like that.
** Rudy Gobert on the Jazz rediscovering their defense
Coach prepare, I mean, told us to be ready this morning ’cause they beat us last time. And everybody was focused. You know, everybody was communicating. We took pride on the defensive end, and after we got some easy stuff on the other end.
** Gobert on getting dunked on by Andrew Wiggins, and then blocking Wiggins
I’m gonna get dunked on. The most important is to always never be scared, and I was waiting for him to come back, and he came back pretty quick, so I just blocked him.
Do you have to have a short memory in this game? I mean, you can be embarrassed one moment, and then just make a great play the next.
Not really. I think it’s just about pride. You know, when you make a bad play, you wanna get somebody back on the other end. You wanna make sure they don’t disrespect you no more. So, you gotta make yourself respected. If not, they’re gonna try to dunk on me every time. That’s what he tried to do the second time, so I had to let him know.
** Trevor Booker, asked why the defense went away for four games and then came back the last two
I’m not sure. I’m just glad it came back. You know, coach was stressing it, and it finally came back.
** Booker, asked what the team needs to do to be in the playoff hunt next year
Just keep developing the younger players, developing our chemistry, communicate with eat–each other. Just all the little things that could add up to be big things.

Random Stuff, etc.
** The loss was not the only reason Sidney Lowe was feeling down in the dumps.
** Exum’s jersey arm holes appear to be growing in size with each game.

** Matt Harpring’s key to the game: Don’t let the ball get sticky.
** Harpring: Minnesota’s just playing four out, one in, with pain* in the middle.
* Adreian Payne, that is.
** Harpring on Joe Ingles assist to Trevor Booker, unintentional flatulence quote: I think Joe even liked that one. He turns around and kinda blows [pause] air out of his cheeks, like, “Ooh, did you see that one?”
** Harpring on the Jazz’s assist numbers: I hope that comes up in the second half.
** Craig Bolerjack on Rodney Hood: Looks a little shaken up. Looks like he took a high, hard one right above the eye, or below it. (H/T @Mark_R_Pereira, and @New_OrleansJazz via @jimmizzle30)
** Harpring on Rudy Gobert: Rudy’s got a body… (long pause) (H/T @hessrp)
** Boler on Gobert: Let me tell Jazz fans, by the way. Matt, you’ve witnessed this. The guy can eat.
