Pre-Game Quotage
** Tyrone Corbin, asked about his “gamut of emotions” as he comes in here tonight
You know, I have so many great memories of being a part of this organization here, man, and coming back in this building, the battles that we’ve had with some teams here, and the great wins that we’ve had over the years, and the relationships that I’ve had an opportunity to build in this community, and within this organization…my emotions are all over the place. But we have a game to try and win tonight, so.
** Corbin, on taking over another head coaching position mid-season
Well, you know, hopefully, it is what it is. It’s just part of my journey, and I’m excited to have an opportunity here with these guys while I’m here, and we’ll try and make the best of it.
** Corbin on the Jazz this year
They’re still young. You know, they getting used to the roles now. Trey [Burke]’s coming off the bench, which is a little, probably a little different for him. But they play hard, though.
Post-Game Quotage
** Quin Snyder on the game
[This was] our fourth game in five nights. We’ve been, you know, it wasn’t just a road trip. We were back and forth, and it’s been a little, it’s a different, it’s been a different four games, because we’ve been on the road, then home, then on the road, then home. I haven’t had a schedule like that…So, to come out with the energy and the, you know, the discipline that we did tonight, I think is good.
** Derrick Favors, asked whether Quin Snyder’s practices and shootarounds are the hardest he’s ever worked in his career
I wouldn’t say it’s the hardest, but, not physically, but I think it’s the hardest mentally. You know, he always giving you stuff and make you think, think a lot, and try to test your basketball IQ. So, probably mentally, it’s hard.
** Gordon Hayward on where the Jazz’s defense has improved
I think just playing together, playing — we got so many young guys, just the experience helps so much. So, I think the more the season goes on, the better we should be, and I think you’ve seen that a little bit. I think Rudy [Gobert]’s also huge, with just his ability to stay down there. And when he’s out there with Fav, you know, we kind of have two rim protectors down there. It allows Fav to play the “four,” and presents a difficult challenge for the other team.
** Trevor Booker, asked if Quin Snyder told him ahead of time he wouldn’t see the court until the fourth quarter, or if he just rolled with it
Just rolled with it. You know, coach Q knows, he knows what he’s doing. So, you know, just rolling with it.
** Elijah Millsap on the challenges that come with a Quin Snyder playbook
He does a lot of teaching. You know, it’s good for a young team like this, and for guys like me, a rookie still learning the game. And so, you know, I appreciate, you know, he’s giving me the opportunity to play. I’m relishing every moment of it.
