Game 31 of 82: Utah Jazz at Los Angeles Clippers (10-21)

December 30, 2014

Post-Game Quotage
** Quin Snyder on the Derrick Favors, Enes Kanter and Rudy Gobert trio
Yeah, I mean, we’re 24, 22, 22 [years old]. You know, so those guys, it’s great for us to have a chance to compete against a team that’s at this level, and individual players that, you know, some of them not only the best offensive players, but some of the best defensive players in the league.

** Gordon Hayward on the Clippers’ defensive pressure
Yeah, they, well, they were hedging all ball screens, and we did a really solid job the whole game of finding the open man. I mean, we were getting some layups; the big-to-big passing was good. We got some wide-open threes. But you know, that’s the way they were guarding it, guarding us, and I think the experience will help us in the long run, figuring out how we can win and how we should play towards the end of the games. But you know, still tough. Tough to swallow.
** Rodney Hood on what he’s learning as a starter
Just learning how to, you know, play in crunch time. You know, that was my first game really, well, second game really playing in crunch time, and learning not to make mental mistakes. You know, I made a foul, you know, late in the game that, you know, I probably could’ve made it a little bit tighter, so you know, it’s just, I’m just learning game by game.

** Craig Bolerjack on the free pizza with ticket package: I’ll throw one in.
Matt Harpring: You know what? It’s always me. It’s never you. When are you gonna reach a little bit into your pocket? I know you got deep pockets, ’cause you tend to go up short in those pockets.
** Harpring: Exum, staying down on Chris Paul.
** Boler on the Jazz roster: Obviously, Kevin O’Connor has his hand on a few of these players.
** Harpring on the Jazz’s development: Maybe not every night, not as consistent as either Dennis Lindsey wants it, or coach Quin Snyder wants it. But it’s coming. It’s happening.
** Dennis Lindsey on the Clippers out-rebounding the Jazz in the first half: With DeAndre Jordan’s tip outs, he’s got 15. But we’re plus-6 there, so.
** Dennis Lindsey on Gordon Hayward: Last year was tough for Gordon, because it was the first year that he had the ball.
** Harpring to Lindsey: It looks like every third quarter, you’re gonna have to come. (H/T @UGottaLovItBaby)
** Boler: Trey Burke, trying to push it inside…Forcing it, forcing it inside to Fav. Here comes JJ.
** Boler on Blake Griffin free throw: He’ll bang that one hard.
** Boler on Derrick Favors: Blake Griffin right on top of him. Knocks him down.
Harpring: You have to see the contact. There’s a lot going on down low.
** Boler: Favors, put it up! … And bodies are down. Griffin lying on top of Favs.
Harpring: Blake Griffin is not long. He’s only 6-9.
** Boler on Hayward’s jersey: It’s out of his shorts.
** Gordon Hayward on free throws, post-game: Those are freebies you gotta hit.
** Boler to Hayward, on there being a game tomorrow night: You guys get to turn around quick. You guys are young. I mean, that’s something that, you guys are hungry enough to get back and hit it, you know, get it on the floor fast?

Q beating his chest – is Lang yawning or yelling behind him?

Bolergirth: I’m gonna assume they were talking about fishing.

Can someone please show your halftime interviewee stats to the team? No more frickin’ Johnnie B!

my guess is that the team misses on johnnie’s halftime expertise when he’s. doing the interview, making it impossible for them to win the game.
