Today’s Opponent Game Thread host: Welcome to Loud City.

The last game thread posted was eight days ago for the Thunder’s first preseason game. Shoutout to the one fan who commented his/her way through the game on the newest post on the site (an article on the Thunder’s championship window closing and contending with bad luck) all by his/her lonesome.

It may just be me but everytime I see Chesapeake Arena my mind reorganises it to Cheapskate Arena?
Is it dyslexia or a Freudian slip of some sort – projecting my doubts over ownership’s financial commitment?

Jazz starters
Trey Burke
Alec Burks
Gordon Hayward
Favours
Kanter
They’re projected as a 25 win team with a deep bench but below average starters apart from Hayward and Favours.
There are also doubts Favour and Kanter can co-exist like Josh Smith, Drummond and Monroe don’t.
Thunder switch positions with Morrow and Roberson (must be on Hayward not worried by Burkes so much)
Russ, Morrow, Roberson, Ibaka, Adams

Down 21-12
Aussie Dante Exum in the game – two on the court should be some kind of rule against it.
Poor refs having to hear them.

Russ got two steals and dunks to make it 22-16. Timeout Jazz.
7ft9in wingspan of Rudy Gobert is out there. He’s improved.

Rudy Gobert rejected Adams hook shot with his freakish reach

Kanter has 16, Favours 11 – maybe they CAN work around each other.
Kanter looks a little slimmer, Gobert has filled out and Favours is about the same.
Hayward has been shut down probably by Roberson but I haven’t been watching him.
Maybe they’ve got so much success in the lane they haven’t needed him.

Both teams just using 10 man rotations
This almost feels like a real game in starters minutes etc…. and we’re getting beat by a 25-win team.

Adams giving Morrow instructions
Something he’s been doing a lot lately to the newer players.
Wonder what the Jazz want for Gobert?

by Mullayo on Oct 21, 2014 | 8:45 PM

Rodney Hood by name hood by nature 4 fouls in 14mins
by Mullayo on Oct 21, 2014 | 8:47 PM

Gobert just grabbed Adams and swung him round for a do-si-do and a foul.
then did it all over again. Adams bad at the line again 3 of 6. 7pts
85-69 3rd quarter over.

Kanter is a handfull and has 21, Trey Burke 18 has improved his scoring efficiency 7-14
by Mullayo on Oct 21, 2014 | 8:55 PM

Skinny Kanter looking like a star scorer. Gobert and Trey Burke improved. Favour and Hayward.
Maybe they’re not such easybeats. Might win 35-games.
