Game 31of 82: Utah Jazz at Memphis Grizzlies (8-23)
An emotional game in the life of Tyrone Corbin:
** Sidney Lowe at halftime, asked for the Jazz’s second-half game plan
We’re gonna have to play hard. We’re gonna have to continue to play hard. That’s what ♥COACH♥ just talked about.
** Tyrone Corbin on the game
Well, I thought the effort, you know, we’re trying. We had some lulls in there, but the guys are fighting. You know, we had some, as a result, we had chances in the ball game. We just couldn’t get over the hump…You know, we just gotta keep working, and keep trying to get better™.
** Corbin on the Grizzlies’ 3-point shooting
That bench did a good job tonight, and hadn’t been shooting 3-pointers well, and they come out and shoot 55 percent against us tonight…Guys made shots where they hadn’t been making 3-pointers up until tonight. They made them tonight against us, so we gotta keep working…Gotta give them credit, they shot it better than they had been shooting it in the past, especially from the 3-point line.
** Corbin’s overall assessment of the road trip
Well, we, you know, we had some successes. We had some nights where we didn’t play our best basketball, but we won two of the games…We’re growing. We’re getting better™.
** Corbin on the Jazz’s bench scoring
I think they had 51 points off the bench tonight to our 18. So we gotta get better™ there. We were, we had been better coming off the bench, we just didn’t get the scoring tonight. (1280)
Random Stuff, etc.
** Last we heard (around six weeks ago), Kyrylo Fesenko was signing with a team in Poland. Now, Fes is back–whatever that may mean–stateside. Here he is at Central Park:
** Hometown boy Ian Clark had a large crowd of family and friends come to the game to see him in action, but unfortunately…
He does have something going for him that not everyone on the team does, though:

** Matt Harpring: And Johnson, who goes 6, 9. (H/T @5kl)
** Harpring on Favors: That’s a move that he was not doing a year ago. He’s getting lower on his moves now. He’s not standing straight up anymore. He’s below the belt buckle of his opposing player.
** Craig Bolerjack: A little wiggle move by Randolph. Kanter tried to stay in front of him.
** Harpring: You know, it’s one thing if a player hits one in your face one time. You can’t let the exact same play happen twice in a row.
** Harpring to Boler: I feel like you were down a little bit today. And I brought you, I had to bring you up.
** Harpring: Kanter just a half second too late, in the restricted area.
** Harpring: Conley has taken the load now. (H/T @Mac_Jazz)
** Harpring: Takes his time, uses the body well, great timing too. (H/T @5kl)
** Boler on Zach Randolph: There’s a little Al Jefferson in him. I mean, just the way he parks himself down, right to left hand… (H/T @5kl)
To close: Boom bitches.
