Game 54 Jazz at Timberwolves: Ugly with a Capital “U”

February 14, 2013

The first quarter was a bowel movement. Fortunately, most of the rest of the game was ball movement. And then the Burks movement in the 4th quarter saved the game from going back to bowel movement.

Bask in the glory of this:

And you know what was the best part about this play, as pointed out by @bjcseven? Brad Jones and Mark McKown (sitting behind Gary Briggs) grinning and elbowing each other as they watched Alec Burks slam it down:

Random Stuff, etc.
** This is neither here nor there and there is no hidden message to this. I just thought it was interesting the way this shot was set up coming back from commercial break, in that it looked like Jeff Hornacek was the Jazz’s head coach:

Unintentional Dirty Quote Machines of the Night (UDQM)
** Harpring on Pekovic: It’s just a lot of muscle right there.
** Sidney Lowe on Minnesota’s pick and roll: The penetration, which is really hurting us.
** Boler on Millsap’s finger: Gary Briggs is over there, gonna try to straighten it out.
** Harpring: It’s not like it looks pretty. It’s just fun to watch.
** Harpring: He’s going straight to the rim. No one’s going to stop Big Al!
** Boler: Oh-ho! The muscle of Derrick Favors!
** Millsap on his finger: It was turned the other way. I didn’t want to look at it. But you know, Gary Briggs did a great job of putting it back in.
** DeMarre Carroll: I told Paul and Al, I said, “We need y’all, you know? We ride y’all to the end.” … When you got two big horses like that, you gotta feed ’em.
** Big Al on his plans for All-Star break: I’m just gonna relax, man. Let these muscle relax a little bit.
