Preseason Game 6 Jazz at Blazers: What was that?!

October 23, 2012

** Tyrone Corbin, post-game: At the end of the game, they score 120 points on you. That’s too much. Our guys a little beat up, and we just didn’t have our best effort tonight.
** Corbin on his goal for the final preseason game: Just continue to work. We gotta continue to work and grow and grow this group together. We gotta figure some things out on defensive end…We gotta continue to fight and work. (1280)

Random Stuff, etc.
** Derrick Favors’ offensive woes and lack of a go-to move have been over-documented this pre-season (here’s a novel idea: hire a big man coach to show him some big man moves), so this was just fantastic to see:

** Add this to the growing list of Karl Malone-Enes Kanter similarities: Enes Kanter muttering to himself (and I’m pretty sure saying “baby”) at the free throw line.

** Love this:

** Two shots that would’ve been really awesome, had they gone down. Sadly, they did not. (Getty Images)

** Ouch:

Unintentional Dirty Quote Machines of the Night (UDQM)
** Booner on Millsap: He released too soon. He was being fronted.
** Booner: My favorite one-on-one move. Catch it and do something with it right away.
** Boler: Sliding, slipping inside is Mo.
** Boler: Inside, Al takes it from Hayward.
** Boler on Darnell Jackson’s ejection in the last game: He was holding the ball. A little clawing, a little grabbing. Just good ol’ fun.
** Corbin on the Jazz’s turnovers: A couple of backdoor plays earlier heading man to the ball, to guys not ready for it. The backdoor is where you making it and the guy just wasn’t expecting the ball in.
