Behind the back, off the glass, off Doug Christie’s head…
July 2, 2012
This play from Mo Williams’ rookie season totally made me smile. Fast break and beautiful behind-the-back-dribble by Mo, but his shot gets blocked at the rim. AK grabs the ball and throws it off Doug Christie’s head as he flies out of bounds. That very night, Jackie Christie filed a lawsuit against the Jazz for aggravated assault and emotional distress and also tried to get AK deported, but the judge threw it out.
P.S. Does anyone remember Hot Rod Hundley calling AK “Cat Man”? I have no recollection of this whatsoever.
If you’ve got a few minutes, stroll down memory lane with this video of Mo’s 19-point game in Sacramento on Feb. 27, 2004. (via @JazzBasketball1)

“young rookie” and “speed merchant” :)
boy remember that year and AK47?
I hope we can somehow bring him back. The Net org will kill him.
One of the my favorite Jazz seasons, ever.
With the signing of Marvin Williams its looking very unlikely that we bring back AK. Sad to see him gone for what is probably good, but we have Olive Gordon who has some AK-like skills of his own and could quite possibly be better than AK ever was, as long as Ty doesn’t let some washed up vet get time over him.
cuz he’s quick like a cat!!
AK does great acrobatics
