Game 65 vs. PHX: The locker room that stays together plays together

April 25, 2012

(Might want to go grab a cup of coffee and give this a few minutes to load…)

In it to win it…win it and in it. Won it; in it.

This was nothing but a team effort, and the entire team deserves credit. I have to say, though, that I find myself happiest of all for Big Al. He wanted this so bad, and he was able to step up when the Jazz needed him to down the stretch. It got a little dusty in here when he checked out of the game in the final seconds and the ESA gave him that ovation.

To sum up the game, we have this fantastic, hilarious, brilliant image by @utahjazzcrazy:

P.S. Know who thought the game was “can’t miss”? :) :) :) (H/T @gleb_doc)

Reaction of the Night

** Al Jefferson, post-game: Now it’s time to go and shock the world. (1)
** Big Al, post-game: That’s the beauty of this team. Everybody was humble. If I scored, the whole team feel like they scored. If they scored, everybody just be proud of that. I’ve never been a part of nothing like this, never. (1)
** Paul Millsap on Tyrone Corbin, post-game: Past few weeks, he hasn’t been as nervous as he normally is. Haven’t been sweating as much as he normally do. (1)
** Devin Harris on Derrick Favors, post-game: Obviously, I can’t speak enough about Derrick and the way he played. Obviously, we expect that from Paul and from Big Al, but Derrick, the way he protected the rim, the way he blocked shots, the way he rebounded and gave us a big lift. (1)
** Big Al on Favors, post-game: I think he got a chance to be one of the top players in this league one day, and I seen it from Day One. To get his confidence up the way it is right now, that’s another reason we at where we at, because that big lineup is amazing. He’s got so much potential. I don’t think there’s any limit on that. (1)

This caught my eye and made me laugh towards the end of the game. Enes Kanter, who was on the bench, came randomly bounding (bouncily, of course) into the frame:

Unintentional Dirty Quote Machines of the Night (UDQM)
** Corbin at shootaround on Raja and Josh: I didn’t get any reports of swelling this morning.

…I was too strung-up (is that a word?) to notice UDQMs during the game…

** Hayward, post-game: It’s been a lot of fun. Just talking about it puts a smile on my face, that we’ve come together.
** Big Al, post-game: I get home, get by myself. Just really think about it, man. Lay it all out. I can’t do it in front of y’all.

One last hug for the road–Paul Millsap and Ronnie Price:

Some :) More when the Jazz win, less when they lose.

Almost as good as Al’s reaction to the Millsap putback was Hayward’s “Oh crap I almost airballed a three, even though I kept my hand extended. Thanks for cleaning it up….”

I can’t get over the top three gifs. That kinda chemistry is something the Jazz have been missing since Stockton and Malones bromance.
