Game 56 vs. GSW: Mark Jackson Still Sucks.

April 7, 2012

You know that feeling when it’s [fill in day of the week] and it totally feels like it’s [fill in another day of the week]?

That’s how this game feels. I know we won, but I keep thinking we lost.

*looks at box score*
*notes Enes Kanter and Alec Burks’ combined 13 minutes*
*opens can of worms on rotations*
*flips lid back over can*

** Al Jefferson, post-game: I thought last year, I was back to the old me since the ACL, but this year really been…

…this year, I think I’m better than I was before I tore my ACL. I’m feeling more and more comfortable. Really looking forward to the offseason, going back to Santa Barbara and just get better and better. 27 years old, and this is supposed to be your prime, and I think I’m heading that way. (1)
** Tyrone Corbin on Paul Millsap: He’d been not feeling well all night. In the bathroom a lot, both ways. (dnewsjazz)
** Tyrone Corbin, post-game: Paul was sick this morning and CJ was throwing up before the game. (1)

Thanks for the bodily function updates, coach. I’m sure Millsap in particular appreciated that. Also, why and how do you know it was “both ways”?

Random Stuff, etc.
** This was probably the best moment of the night. After the game, Big Al was asked about his advantage on offense going up against rookie Jeremy Tyler.

Al (trying to be diplomatic): Well, I felt like he did a good job. He played good.

Paul Millsap starts snickering.

Al (laughing): Paul, I’m trying to do an interview here.

Millsap: Why you [lying to (?)] people like that, man?

Al: Nah man, I think he did a, ah… (trails off, both laughing)

Millsap: You shot 13 for 18.

(Everyone, including media, cracks up.)

Al, doggedly continuing on: I didn’t feel like, I didn’t feel like I had an advantage over him, you know, but ah, I think I, you know, I had a great game against him, but I think he played hard. He young still. Just like the kid from Canada [Tristan Thompson]. They only got upside, so they gonna get better and better. (1)

** Earlier in the day, Earl posted a picture on Twitter that Jeremy had drawn of an “early oop”:

** KSL:

** KOC on Corbin in reference to Deron trade: I think I screwed him last year.
** KOC on Favors: We think his growth’s ahead of him.
** Boler: Jefferson got back.
** Harpring on free throws: It just takes practice and a lot of work in the offseason to get your stroke and have ample practice.
** Boler: OH… it’s good to be long. (H/T @bjcseven)
** Nissalke: That’s the advantage Devin has over those two other point guards. He can really penetrate and penetrate strong and then finish. (H/T @Mac_Jazz)
** Phil Johnson: They put Earl Watson on some of their perimeter guys and he got right in their face. Sometimes they don’t like that. (H/T @Mac_Jazz)
** Media on abdominal strains: Have you ever done anything like that before? Al: I did it in Houston. I did it in Houston for the first time. Media: How long does it usually take after that? Al: It normally just go right away.
** Earl Watson on playing with Jamaal: We both did it. We all did it on other teams. It’s the first time we done it here. It got to the point where we needed, needed to.
** BTS to Al: This is the best I’ve seen you shoot, in terms of smoothness. Is this the best it’s felt for you since the ACL, or overall?
** Ben Bagley (H/T @_alexisholt, and no comment on @Mac_Jazz’s apparent man crush on Devin):
