Who Dressed Him? The Utah Jazz Did.
The Utah Jazz are not the Lebron-era Cleveland Cavaliers. By that, I mean they don’t go around changing uniforms willy-nilly and showing up in a new uniform every other game. In fact, the Utah Jazz have only suited up in 11 different uniforms (that’s including home, away, and alternate) in 32 seasons:
Andrei Kirilenko may not have scored more points than Karl Malone, dished out more assists than John Stockton, or won more games than Jerry Sloan. However, he has his own place in the Jazz history annals by virtue of having suited up for the Jazz in 10 of the franchise’s 11 uniforms ever worn.
The only Jazz uni AK never wore? The purple road J-note one. Some may argue that he wore the original home J-note and green road J-note uniforms as throwbacks so they doesn’t count, but you still have to have had a certain longevity with a team to be around to wear throwbacks. Or, ya know, just humor me.
P.S. For kicks, this is one of my favorite pics that I came across while doing this post. That hair is something else…and I love it.
Last picture is Russian Assassin picture; AK looks lethal.
This is just another nod to my need to save AK. He is the only consistency the Jazz have had since Stockton-to-Malone. I dream of one day seeing his jersey added to the rafters at the ESA.
11 pictures of AK in action=Pure happiness:)
Definitely; can’t imagine anyone else wearing #47 in Utah!!
