Setting the record straight for Jalen Rose
June 13, 2011
Jalen Rose on 6/1:
I loved playing against John Stockton. Unfortunately, I was there when John broke the assist record. I was playing for the Denver Nuggets at the time. He kicked it over to Karl, and this didn’t normally happen, but it happened on this time. Karl took about ten dribbles and shot it, and of course they gave him the assist. (KALL)
Watch this, Jalen. Watch how John passed the ball to Karl and Karl took one–that’s one, not ten–dribble and shot it. And how sweet it was.
I rest my case.

Bless my damned soul for not being a fan during the Stockton/Malone era.
better late than never? :)
I hope. Every time I watch one of these older games I want to literally slap myself. That’s some incredible basketball I missed out on.
Honestly, I still get a sad feeling of nostalgia in my stomach every time I see old game footage.
Well, you know … 10 dribbles is approximately 1 in NBA standards. So I’d assume 1 dribble is about 10, using similar logic.
