Jerry Sloan gets his Joey Tribbiani on

November 24, 2010

By the way, the win against the Kings was the 1,200th win of Jerry’s coaching career. I suppose it’s a testament to his longevity and humility that it went virtually unnoticed and unmentioned. If this was Phil Jackass, the Lakers would probably be forced to foot the bill for a splashy Zen parade.

Anyway, Jerry needs 11 more WINS to pass Pat Riley for 3rd all-time coaching wins, and 15 more GAMES for his 2,000th game as a head coach. He is currently 5th all-time in games coached, and Larry Brown is two games ahead. By the end of the season, Brown and Jerry will have passed Bill Fitch and be 3th and 4th, respectively, on that list.
