Preseason Off-Day Odds and Ends, Part 1

One. The first look at the navy blue Jazz warmups was a bit blurry. Here’s a better look:

Two. The color combinations on these caps (available at utahjazzstore.com) are just plain awful. I guarantee that no one thinks “Jazz” at first, or even second, glance.

Three. This, on the other hand, is pretty cool. When will the new ones that make Jazz note toast be coming in?

Four. I’ve been saying that the pre-season record doesn’t mean anything, and I stand by that. The national media apparently feels the same way [about the Jazz], because there are always more important story lines than Jazz wins. Yahoo led with “Kobe has 19 in 3rd” after the first Lakers game, while ESPN led with “Jefferson hurts hand” after the second Lakers game.

Five. Finally, Scott Skiles deserves recognition for all of the work he does with troubled inner-city kids.
