Game 74 @ WAS: Have Fun Storming the [Really Empty] Castle!
A few days ago, I was looking at my calendar and experienced a brief moment of “oh no-ness” when I–knowing that there was a Jazz game today–saw that I had a noon wedding to go to. “Crap,” I thought to myself, “I’m going to be late to the wedding.” (Don’t judge me too harshly on my priorities. Or, as you may see it, lack of.)
Cue East Coast tip-off time.
OK, back to the game. The first half followed the script of yesterday’s game pretty much to the letter. The Jazz built up a 10-point lead, but couldn’t take it anywhere. Fortunately, they were on the right side of the late-game run. Boozer got into early foul trouble again and only played 8 minutes in the first half, but really brought it in the second half, scoring 18 points. He, Deron, and Memo all collected double-doubles.
The Jazz shot in the low 60s for most of the game compared to the Wizards high 30s, and if not for their 22 TOs (to the Wizards’ 12), it would probably have been a bigger blowout (not complaining!). I am feeling desolate and full of dread that there are just eight regular season and X Playoff games left, though. I can’t believe the–BLEH–offseason is almost upon us again.
