Game 50 @ LAC: Good night, sleep well, I’ll most likely kill you in the morning
A win is a win. That’s something, supposedly. However…
Call me ungrateful, but I did not appreciate this opportunity to travel back in time and revisit the first month of the season when the Jazz players’ game strategy consisted entirely of “jumper, jumper, bad shot, jumper, fourth quarter turnover, jumper, foul.” Bad, bad, bad game.
Prior to tip-off, Deron said that winning games on the road like this one would show that “we’re maturing and becoming a better team.” We got the win, but I’m not sure it showed that.
Lastly, I was happy to see Korver get into the game. The way I see it, we need him in the Playoffs to spread the floor. CJ [giving credit when it’s due: once CJ stopped jacking shots today, he (and Boozer and Ronnie P) were the ones that got the Jazz the win] won’t command the respect of opposing defenders, who will likely leave him open and collapse on Deron and Boozer. However, opponents have to respect Kyle when he’s on the floor, and I therefore think Jerry should be keeping him in the rotation to keep him warm for the post-season.
