Game 82 of 82: Utah Jazz at Minnesota Timberwolves (25-57)

April 17, 2014

Though the .gif above may be more representative of the season as a whole, there’s something to be said for ending the season on a positive [J-]note. :)

Couple of thoughts…
–Can’t wait to see Trey Burke and Rudy Gobert next year with one season under their belts.
–Was this the last time we (didn’t) see Enes Kanter as a Jazzman?
–Malcolm Thomas. Could be intriguing.
–Also intriguing: Raul Neto in a Jazz uniform next year?

Random Stuff, etc.
** Marvin Williams previously said his nickname for Alec Burks is “Easy 20.” If Gordon Hayward is gone, should Burks change his number to 20 so that we can see this during nickname jersey games:

easy20

** One final (as Jazzmen) Brandon Rush – Rudy Gobert Instagram exchange:

** Before this season began, a LHM media member predicted the Jazz would win games this season due to Tyrone Corbin’s experience advantage over the nine rookie coaches in the league. (It was 10 by season’s end, with John Loyer replacing Maurice Cheeks in Detroit mid-season.)

FWIW: By my rough count, Corbin (8th longest-tenured coach in the NBA) achieved a record of 11-14 against rookie coaches this year.

Corbin swept the season series against two rookie coaches (Philadelphia’s Brett Brown and Charlotte’s Steve Clifford) and was swept in season series by three rookie coaches (Brooklyn’s Jason Kidd, Atlanta’s Mike Budenholzer and Memphis’ Dave Joerger).

** And to close: Who wore the retro pornstache best, Kevin Love or former Jazzman Othyus Jeffers?

It has been a rough year. I found it extremely challenging to hope for losses. It also hurts to see all of the former Jazz men heading into the playoffs while our guys clean out their lockers. If Hayward does not return… I don’t know if I can recover. I get too attached and there have been too many heart aches…
I would like to say, “Goodbye Ty!”
    Love
