Today’s Opponent Game Thread host: Blazer’s Edge.

Alright……
Let’s blow these guys out!

by illumined on Dec 9, 2013 | 4:38 PM

And Derrick Favors is not playing tonight.
more Rudy Gobert!

by tyeforshee on Dec 9, 2013 | 4:55 PM

Lol. Good one!

I’m convinced Olshey is telling Dennis Lindsey to put him on showcase
Eventually ending up with Gobert at the deadline for our 2016 1st & Leonard.
He is the perfect reserve/long term backup for Rolo, will eventually be starter materiel.

by 420Phenom on Dec 9, 2013 | 4:56 PM

If only we could trade our 2016th pick at the deadline.
We will have to wait until this year’s draft is over. On the bright side we could potentially have turned the 28th pick into Gerald Wallace, which got us the 6th pick (Damian Lillard)

by tyeforshee on Dec 9, 2013 | 4:59 PM

I see,
Still, go for Gobert. 2017th 1st & Leonard it is, ha! By that time Gobert will be our French Roy Hibbert & resigning a huge deal with us.

by 420Phenom on Dec 9, 2013 | 5:01 PM

This will be the first time I’ve watched Gordon Hayward play this year
Jazz think he’s a big building block, but I dunno. His numbers have not been so pretty.

by BlazersOrBust on Dec 9, 2013 | 6:00 PM

Well, he’s big I guess.
And you could smush him into a block and build with him… I guess.

by allthebacon on Dec 9, 2013 | 6:01 PM

Like, a Play-Doh building block
Kinda mushy, dubious foundational piece. He needs to be more Duplo.

by BlazersOrBust on Dec 9, 2013 | 6:05 PM

He seems to think he’s an even bigger building block, based on negotiations.
by Timmay! on Dec 9, 2013 | 6:02 PM

whoa, they’ve got some empty seats
by hoodieNation on Dec 9, 2013 | 6:19 PM

And this is more than normal
Considering that there are people that came just to see Lillard.

by tyeforshee on Dec 9, 2013 | 6:21 PM

Great feed and finish with Rolo and Dame
Also, what is a “Jeremy Evans” and why is playing in the NBA?

by BlazersOrBust on Dec 9, 2013 | 6:18 PM

This still blocked out huh?

He is a human trampoline.
by tyeforshee on Dec 9, 2013 | 6:19 PM

I do like that he dunked over a painting of himself in the dunk contest last year, according to Wikipedia. That’s really great.
by BlazersOrBust on Dec 9, 2013 | 6:21 PM

Blazers aren’t passing the ball to the find open shooters, and LA isn’t going at Evans who can’t gaurd him.
Low energy start is maybe to be expected, but they need to clean it up because you can’t drop games to the worst team in the NBA.

by PortlandPhil on Dec 9, 2013 | 6:22 PM

My god Aldridge get in the post and abuse Evans. There is no excuse for this.
Jazz are playing terrible basketball and Portland just bails them out by playing soft jump shooting ball.

by BRoyInThe4th on Dec 9, 2013 | 6:26 PM

Cmon LA destroy Evans
by Siccolo on Dec 9, 2013 | 6:27 PM

Every possesion that LA isn’t isolated against Evans on the block is a wasted possession.
I don’t get this teams lack of energy. If they think they can play only one quarter of basketball against this team in their own building and expect to win easy they are going to be mistaken. And My god if Mo Williams doesn’t dump the ball into the post then he needs to be benched for Earl Watson.

by PortlandPhil on Dec 9, 2013 | 6:29 PM

Green is my favorite color, but man that arena is ugly!!!!
by hoodieNation on Dec 9, 2013 | 6:30 PM

I have a hard time taking Hayward seriously as an NBA player
Exclusively because of his hair.

by BlazersOrBust on Dec 9, 2013 | 6:30 PM

Just announced they are “honoring Jerry Sloan”
Better late than never.

by occassia on Dec 9, 2013 | 6:36 PM

They should have honored him by trading Deron sooner.
by Timmay! on Dec 9, 2013 | 6:37 PM

^ This. At a bare minimum.
by occassia on Dec 9, 2013 | 6:37 PM

Remember when people were dead serious when saying
he had won the Paul v. Williams debate?

by BlazersOrBust on Dec 9, 2013 | 6:38 PM

Guilty as charged.

My goodness gracious this game is disgusting!
by Corvallis, OR on Dec 9, 2013 | 6:46 PM

can anyone make a basket?
by bustabucket on Dec 9, 2013 | 6:46 PM

Portland 37% Jazz38%
by beyoungpdx on Dec 9, 2013 | 6:46 PM

I don’t think my eyes can handle this
by pdxthomastran on Dec 9, 2013 | 6:46 PM

Blazers shooting worse then Kobe last night
by SlimSteve on Dec 9, 2013 | 6:49 PM

No one shoots that bad.
by tyeforshee on Dec 9, 2013 | 6:50 PM

Of course, as soon as we get some momentum
Mo jacks up a long 3 early in the shot clock.

by anupam on Dec 9, 2013 | 6:51 PM

Mo says NOmentum
by bowdown on Dec 9, 2013 | 6:52 PM

I’m really getting tired of watching Mo Williams take bad shots. It’s gotten to the point that I think he was a bad signing.
by BRoyInThe4th on Dec 9, 2013 | 6:51 PM

He’s cleaned himself up a bit lately
but he seems to think that playing against a former team gives him the green light to play hero when it’s definitely not needed.

by Corvallis, OR on Dec 9, 2013 | 6:52 PM

I wish we had a guy named Burke and a guy named Burkes
Rice would be hilarious.

by BlazersOrBust on Dec 9, 2013 | 6:53 PM

utah commentators love batum
by Siccolo on Dec 9, 2013 | 6:59 PM

Who doesn’t?
Other than Juan Carlos Navarro, obvs.

by SlickRick1987 on Dec 9, 2013 | 6:59 PM

Burks has been a one man wrecking crew.
by Arby on Dec 9, 2013 | 7:02 PM

And how do we allow Alec Burks to score 15 on us in the first half?
Defense has been embarrassing the last 2 games.
Trying not to be negative. But man, it’s the Jazz for crying out loud…

by Darn you, darn you to heck! on Dec 9, 2013 | 7:15 PM

Kanter has no forehead
by bowdown on Dec 9, 2013 | 7:25 PM

are these things that the jazz are attempting called “fast breaks”?
by nerfthunder on Dec 9, 2013 | 7:36 PM

Burks guy is really annoying. Force him to take outside shots
by bowdown on Dec 9, 2013 | 7:37 PM

by poorwebguy on Dec 9, 2013 | 7:43 PM

by bowdown on Dec 9, 2013 | 7:48 PM

Um, hello? We want to win this?
by occassia on Dec 9, 2013 | 8:05 PM

Man we arent playing like a contendor
by bowdown on Dec 9, 2013 | 8:06 PM

Every NBA champion has nights like this in the regular season.
by Timmay! on Dec 9, 2013 | 8:06 PM

Go ahead and lay down now Jazz
We could use the win and a loss gets you one game closer to wiggins.

by jcolkitt on Dec 9, 2013 | 8:08 PM

How does the NBA throw out refs this bad?
by Darn you, darn you to heck! on Dec 9, 2013 | 8:12 PM

Well, it’s tradition at this point.

by CroRupt on Dec 9, 2013 | 8:17 PM

by hoodieNation on Dec 9, 2013 | 8:18 PM

by bustabucket on Dec 9, 2013 | 8:19 PM

Hayward’s missed layup preserved a double-digit win!
