Game 75 Jazz vs. Trail Blazers: Five in a row, bitches

April 2, 2013

Because the guys played as a team, they got a win that culminated in 1) Jeremy Evans getting in the game; 2) this:

Side Note: Congrats to Big Al on winning NBA Player of the Week!

Quotage
** Mo Williams on the matchup with Damian Lillard, pre-game: It’s not about me and him…I judge the win and losses, you know? I feel like, I’m only as good as my teammates. I’m not a guy that goes out and try to carry a team, and you know, try to score all the points, get all the assists, and get all the rebounds, and get all the credit. I’d rather just get the win.

** Tyrone Corbin, post-game: This team is, you know, they just continue to get better and better and better, and now we believe.
** Corbin, post-game: This is who we are right now. This is a family group of guys, and you can’t think about anything. We’ve known that all year long that, you know, guys are whatever. But this is, we’re family now, and we wanna do all that we can to take care of what we can control, and that’s what, what we can control is how we play right now with this group.
** Corbin on Al Jefferson: He’s really, really difficult to deal with when he get it low…He’s doing a great job of being patient, making the right passes enough times to keep the guys honest, and his teammates doing a great job of cutting and spacing the floor to get him opportunities to go one-on-one or making a play on the weak side.

** Big Al, post-game: We just a team playing like we want to be in the Playoffs…We playing well, we just gotta continue to play well. We got a long way to go.
** Al on winning Player of the Week: They say Al Jefferson’s the Player of the Week, but I think it’s the Utah Jazz. It’s the Team of the Week, because if it weren’t for my teammates, you know, I wouldn’t be able to have the success that I had.
** Derrick Favors on how he approaches [theoretically] more minutes with Enes Kanter’s injury: Same way I approach every other game, you know? Come out there, do what I know I can do. Don’t try to do nothing I can’t do. You know, just go out there and play defense and, you know, score when I get the opportunity.

Unintentional Dirty Quote Machines of the Night (UDQM)
** Horny: Hope Randy puts up nine tonight.
** Harpring: When Big Al is that deep, with his footwork and his talent, he’s too good.
** Boler: Tinsley was down on both knees and still had the head up, time to find the open man. (H/T @RxMike12, @carlsston)
** Boler on Western Conference standings: Matty, it is tight.
** Boler: Mo’s on the belt buckle of Lillard.
** Boler on Al: Big fella works the magic down low. (H/T @RxMike12)
** Boler on Claver: Got a little Matt Bonner in him. (H/T @RxMike12)
** Boler: Ball stripped. Mo looks to be ok.
** Hayward on Batum: Watch this. He really goes into Hayward right here.
** Harpring on Burks: He sort of showed it to you at the rim, then gave you a smooth finger roll. (H/T @its_computers)
** Boler: A little wiggle. Al tries to go up and under Leonard.
** Boler on Maynor foul: Gave Mo a high, hard one. (H/T @5kl)
** Harpring on Favors: He’s bigger, longer, than any other player on the court right now. (H/T @RxMike12, @5kl)
** Harpring: Everyone likes some good ball movement. (H/T @RMRSports)
** Harpring on Tinsley: He doesn’t get enough credit for what he did for this team when Mo went down.
** Mo, post-game: It’s fun to be on a roll where you can get it consistently each and every night.
** Don’t usually delve into the UDQMs of other sports or teams, but I had to include this one:
