Game 68 Jazz at Rockets: Circling the Drain
Yes, this had nothing to do with anything.
Quotage
** Tyrone Corbin, on whether he knew there would be losses, as he’s giving three young guys major minutes and that comes with its lumps: Yeah. Yeah, but you know, I, you wanna make sure that we’re the best team that we can be right now. And you know, long, and we’ve always said all year, last two years, we want to develop the young guys. You know, and they need minutes on the floor to do that. And typically in this league, young guys, you gonna take some lumps. But we’ve always had, I thought, I’ve always felt that we’ve had a pretty good balance with, you know, playing the young guys, also having the chance to win and developing the young guys, and the veteran guys carrying the load for us, and we’ll continue to do that.
** Corbin on playing the Rockets: I expect it to be hugely intense, you know, because of where we are.
** Corbin, post-game: We’re still in the fight. We’re still alive, actually. You know, we’ve slid. You know, this was a tough loss tonight. But we still in the fight. So you know, we’ll approach every game, trying to continue to compete to win the ball game and we’ll see where that goes. (KALL,1280,Utah Jazz)

** Boler: Parsons slips it inside to Asik.
** Boler: Tinsley with help D.
** Harpring: Penetration is so devastating. (H/T @Mac_Jazz)
** Harpring: Watch Harden here. He’s going back to his left hand.
** Boler: Millsap leads the Jazz with nine. Check that. Millsap in double figures with 12.
** Boler: Lin up high, swings it over Big Al.
** Boler: Foye! Three! Deep! Short!
** Boler on Mo technical foul: I knew it was coming. Mo would not back away.
** Harpring: Mitch Richmond. One of the hardest guys I’ve ever played in the NBA.
** Harpring on Harden turnover: A lot harder than coming off when no one’s there. You can just have whatever you want.
** Boler: Two coming for Favors.
** Harpring: They let Lin get off a little too much.

Seriously, Tyrone Corbin is STILL blaming losses on young guys taking lumps? When Al Jefferson let 47 layups blow by him? When Mo, Randy, and Marv combine for 13 points off 6-20 shooting? When it was Hayward and Burks (two of the young guys) leading the comeback?
THIS is the stuff that makes me crazy. It’s insane. It’s intentionally closing your eyes to reality.
Dear Tyrone Corbin: the team will be more successful when you STOP trying to have the “veteran guys carrying the load.” Yes, there will still be games in which the young players make mistakes … and maybe losses because of them.
But this is absurd.
Yeah it’s really getting ridiculous at this point. I can’t take him anymore. It’s crazy. Yeah, Hayward really struggled with those minutes tonight!
I totally agree with you guys. Thanks Yucca, for writing it out.
I think Ty is gone, our FO feels they own him some loyalty and probably think it’d be unfair to fire him now (which is dumb if the right coach going forward is available now, of course). He could at least make this more bearable to us all by not embarrassing himself with silly statements every interview… We already have Randy for that.
So let me get this straight, we lost last night because the young guys were taking their lumps. How did team rocket beat us then? They are the youngest team in the league and couldn’t out-vet us like the Knicks did.
Surely Boozer, Memo, or Giricek have worn a V-neck?
