Bits from Kevin O’Connor Interview, 3/18
What are the top positives and negatives that you’re seeing with the Jazz?
Well, I think, again, the positives are the depth that we’ve had; the negatives are certainly missing the opportunities that we’ve been presented.
Have you seen anything from the Jazz that indicates defensive improvement?
Yeah. I sure have. And our, you know, our statistical analysis, you know, showed that that’s the na–, you know, and, again, points scored, etc.
We’ve done that.
What we’ve had is lapses and you know, that’s sometimes comes with young players, and sometimes with depth as you substitute. You know, guys don’t get their legs down and on the floor running right away, and we can give up plays that we shouldn’t be giving up.
** Kevin O’Connor, UDQM: We gotta be able to squeeze the rope a little bit.
On the upcoming Texas road trip and #MeaningfulGames
These are games that are really important to our organization and to our players, so we want to be able to go out there and perform, and understand that we’re in the Playoff race right now. And with 16 games to go, these are meaningful games. And that’s what you want to compete in.
You don’t want to have 21 and 22 and 23 wins, and have young players on the court. And you know that, you know that I won’t say they’re playing out of a string, but you know they’re not as meaningful as they should be.
So these young guys have played in games last year and this year that count, that mean something.
Which one athlete did you idolize growing up?
Willie Mays. (1280)

“Yeah. I sure have. And our, you know, our statistical analysis, you know, showed that that’s the na–, you know, and, again, points scored, etc.
We’ve done that.
What we’ve had is lapses and you know, that’s sometimes comes with young players, and sometimes with depth as you substitute. You know, guys don’t get their legs down and on the floor running right away, and we can give up plays that we shouldn’t be giving up.”
WUT?
Zero hope right…
Right now…
This is one time the transcript did not properly convey how the quote really sounded.
Not to give you negative hope since you’re already at zero hope, but this is what KOC actually said:
“Yeah. I, I, I sure have. And our, our, you know, our statistical analysis, uh, you know, showed that, that’s, that’s the na–, you know, and, and, again, points scored, etc. Uh, we’ve done that.”
So it was worse in its original form? Scary.
We are officially screwed as a franchise. This old belligerent Irishman is spewing nonsensical blabber all over the air. Let’s not forget this is the guy who signed Earl Watson, Mo Williams (twice), and Tyrone Corbin (3 times).
“Let’s not forget this is the guy who signed Earl Watson, Mo Williams (twice), and Tyrone Corbin (3 times)”
Hahahahahaha!
