This probably doesn’t need to be repeated, but this was the worst home loss and one point off the worst loss in Utah Jazz history.

If you’re wondering what fans that paid for tickets were doing to entertain themselves as this epic game unfolded, wonder no more:

Shootaround Quotage
** Gordon Hayward on what happened right after his shoulder injury: They said I was getting pale* and I needed to sit down.
* How could they tell???

** DeMarre Carroll on Hayward not playing: It’s just another opportunity, you know? Just to be a true professional, and go out there and do what I love to do. I think it gonna give a lot of guys a lot of opportunities, you know. Alec Burks been really working hard in practice, and I think it’s giving him more opportunities too.
** Carroll on what he’s been doing: It’s just confidence, man. Trying to be confident on both ends of the floor. I know defensively I can change the game on any team, but you know, offensively I just try to step it up. Get more shots up.
** Carroll on how he decides when to gamble on defense: It’s just my basketball IQ. You know, I really study the game…A lot of guys who’s great defenders, they know when to gamble. And I think you gotta pick the right time and you know, when it’s late in the shot clock, that’s the time to gamble. So I just try to pick and choose. Sometimes I get beat with it, but majority of the time, it pays off for me.
** Millsap on Hayward not playing: Somebody else off the bench is gonna have to come in and try to fill that role as much as possible. Probably Alex.* You know, somebody like that. G is a big part of what we do…He’s going to be missed tonight.
* Not a typo.

Linsanity-Related Quotage
** Big Al on Linsanity: You gotta have respect for that, but you know, it’s just a prime example of keeping God first, you know, and reaching your goals…It’s an amazing story, you know what I’m saying, and he came along well, and he deserve all the success that he have now.
** Marvin Williams on the Linsanity movie: That’s pretty awesome. It’d be actually kind of nice to see…I’ve heard a little bit about his story and you know, I definitely am a fan from afar, just to see how humble he is and his kind of walk to get to this point.
** Marvin’s Eastern Conference perspective on Linsanity: It was unreal. You know, our [the Hawks'] first trip to the [Madison Square] Garden, you know, during Linsanity, is probably right in the middle of it. I had never seen New York with that type of buzz, that kind of feel, you know, since I’d been in the league in eight years.
** Carroll on whether he would go see the Linsanity movie: No, most definitely not…I’m really not into Linsanity.
** Marvin on the possibility of a Marvin Williams movie: I don’t know. My story’s pretty boring, man. I don’t do much. [Who would play Marvin Williams?] Oh man. I don’t know. I don’t want to call anybody boring. You’d have to find somebody that’s just, boring.

Post-Game Quotage
** Tyrone Corbin: It’s one loss. I mean, whether you lose by one or 45, like we did tonight, it’s one loss. And that’s the main thing.
** Corbin on whether the team is going to watch film of the game: I don’t think the guys need to see this over again.
** Randy Foye: They just outplayed us tonight, and you gotta tip your hat to ‘em.
** Marvin Williams: It just was an off-night for us. Seemed like it was an on-night for them, and an off-night for us.
** DeMarre Carroll: We just didn’t have it. Like I said, it’s one of those days…gotta flush this one and let it go.
** Big Al: It’s just like, everything went wrong. Everything went wrong.
** Big Al on the fans booing: If I was them, I would’ve booed us too. It’s not weird. That’s what we love about our fans. They with us when, they gon tell us the truth, and we should’ve been booing ourself. (KALL,1280,Utah Jazz)

only the jazz

Random Stuff, etc.
** People still calling Alec Burks “Alex”: Paul Millsap.

Unintentional Dirty Quote Machines of the Night (UDQM)
** Gordon Hayward on his shoulder, shootaround: I can do everything. It’s just sore. I mean, it’s just very sore and kind of stiff.
** Hayward on his shoulder treatment: You’d have to ask our head trainer that. I mean, it’s, you know, ice, and you know, he does a lot of stuff I couldn’t explain to you. [So not just a backrub?] No. A lot more than that.
** Big Al on the standings, shootaround: Before I got here, I always used to be at the bottom, so it didn’t really matter.
** Big Al on the Jazz facing Linsanity last year: After that game, I thought he gon be a Hall of Famer, the way he did us.
** Tony Parks: Make everything hard. (H/T @5kl)
** Mo Williams, pre-game: I can still use my left hand, so I’m just continuing to develop it.
** Boler on Marvin: He had his legs split between the 3-point line.

Sending y’all off with a little Enes Kanter:

    I turned it off before half time and went to bed super early. Seems that was a good idea.
