Game 18 Jazz at Rockets: Houston’s Jumbotron is a thang of beauty
Seriously. Look at that thing. Look at that beautiful, beautiful thing.
With that loss, our road record drops to 3-9. And yet, this game was not completely unwatchable like so many of our other road losses. Don’t get me wrong; there is so much wrong with our “Parting of the Red Sea” defensive scheme that couldn’t have unfolded more perfectly time and time again in this game. However, many offensive plays were at least actually entertaining.
** Tyrone Corbin, post-game: Al [Jefferson] and Paul [Millsap] did a good job of going inside. We’re just, we’re not getting the calls; we’re not getting the free throws as a result. So we just have to con–keep continuing to fight…You know, I thought we should’ve had more free throws.
** Corbin, post-game: I think we got off to a good start. You know, we played last night; we wanted to get some guys some rest.
** Corbin, post-game: I’m not concerned once we get down….As long as there’s time on the clock, we’ll continue to play and fight to give ourselves a chance to get back in. But we just have to get better.
** Randy Foye, post-game: They played well. You have to give them a lot of credit. They shot the ball really well from the 3-point line. They just, they shared the ball.
** Alec Burks on the Jazz’s 4th quarter lineup: We just showed why we should be playing.
Random Stuff, etc.
** Jamaal Tinsley was the only active player that didn’t get in the game.
** Matt Harpring apparently stole this from a child in the crowd.
Unintentional Dirty Quote Machines of the Night (UDQM)
** Brown: Enes Kanter from behind.
** Harpring to Brown on Instagram: I bet you don’t even know how to do it.
** Brown: So Matt, do you go deeper into the shot clock on the road?
** Harpring: I’m not sure I like wearing a beard, Steve. Brown: Heh heh heh. Harpring: It’s tough. It’s hot. Brown: It is hot. In one way, not the other.
** Harpring: One of these days, they’re going to play 48 minutes like they do in spurts. And when that happens, they’re going to blow, they’re going to blow some team out of the water.
** Harpring: Harder done than said, Steve.
** Brown: Millsap forces it in! (H/T @vizzle07)
** Corbin on the kind of mentality the Jazz should have at the start of games: As if we’re down right from the beginning to come out with that kind of desire in the beginning, and hopefully we can get up there.
** Corbin, post-game: We just didn’t finish it off…at the end, they had three or four blow-bys.
