Game 53 at LAC: #PlayoffPush becomes sarcastic once more

April 1, 2012

I seem to be lacking words lately (with the exception of words like blergh, ugh, and bleh).

It was 31-14 with 3:30 left to go in the first. The Jazz rattled off a 14-0 run from the end of the first half to the beginning of the second half, but it was a futile effort. We’re now one game over .500, and once again on the outside looking in as far as the Playoffs are concerned.

Not in the habit of gif’ing opponents, but you have to love this no matter who you are:

Quotage
** Tyrone Corbin, post-game: Guys are tired, I understand that. (2)
** Corbin on LAC’s 3-point shooting, post-game: They made shots. We did the right things. We wanted to keep the guys on the perimeter…we wanted to keep the paint closed, and we did a good job for the most part. (2)
** Devin Harris, post-game:
–Obviously, we didn’t get enough stops and our defense wasn’t good enough to obviously win the game.
–Obviously, defense affected our offense tonight. Obviously, we’re not getting out in transition with the way they were shooting the ball in the first half.
–When we come out and establish ourselves, we tend to do well, especially on the road. When we don’t, obviously, nights like tonight happen.
–Obviously, we’ve lost three in a row, but obviously we can change it with just one game. Obviously, like you said, confidence is a thing…obviously, we can’t do anything about this one but we need to learn from our mistakes.
–Obviously, you can tell when guys are in a rhythm…but we gotta establish ourselves in that first quarter. It’s been tough. Obviously, we’re gonna keep working at it and we’ll find it.
–Obviously, we control our own destiny…we can do some things, but obviously we have to correct the mistakes we’re making.

Devin tallied 13 “obviously’s” in a span of two minutes. Yes, I counted. Obviously, I need a life.

Unintentional Dirty Quote Machines of the Night (UDQM)
** Harpring: Getting back to Chauncey, that was a huge blow for this team.
** Boler: Watson, trying to force it inside.
** Harpring: Good job by Burks, getting up and into Young.
** Boler on DeAndre Jordan getting hit in the thigh: Trying to rub it out. Harpring: Oh boy, that’s going to be a stiff one in the morning.
** Big Al on Burks: He not a big man but he play big. He not afraid to get in there with the big guys. (H/T @Mac_Jazz)
** Boler on Millsap vs. Griffin: Griffin had his way in that second go-around.
** Boler: Chris Paul is bent over. He is in pain.
** BTS (H/T @SurlyMae):
