The Shot and The Reaction
The Shot and “Uh oh” are ingrained in our memories.
JazzBasketball1 uploaded a new video today of rookie Andrei Kirilenko tipping in a John Stockton shot to win a game at the New Jersey Nets in 2003.
Watching the video, there were so many similarities between the two that I got chills.
It wasn’t just the purple mountain majesty uniforms. Or that it was a road game. Or the starting lineup of John Stockton, Karl Malone, and Greg Ostertag. Or the game coming down to the last shot.
It was John Stockton taking the last shot.
It was Jerry Sloan’s reaction.
It was Karl Malone joyfully hugging the guy that scored the last bucket.
It was camera pan to the opposing coach’s face.
It was the entire Jazz squad rushing onto the court in wild celebration.
It was John Stockton cracking a smile.
Good Great times.
