“Malone for President” Poster
Just a little side note that it’s pretty cool that the doc has kept his “Malone For President” poster for over a decade. I saved the inset picture onto my computer (probably five computers ago) on April 25, 2000.

Interview with Dr. Richard Anderson:
How did Karl end up sitting with you?
I’ve known Karl and his wife for years. My daughter used to babysit for him and we were both at a big fundraiser for the Ruvo Brain Center. Muhammad Ali was being honored, his 70th birthday party, so [my wife and I] met [Karl] there. We saw him in Vegas, ran into him, and Karl said he was thinking of coming up and coming to the game, and my wife said, “Why don’t you take my seat?”
I had some old posters from the glory years that I thought I would bring, and Karl said, “Doc, would you do one thing for me? Would you just try to stay low profile? I want to be low profile tonight, [could you] not do your usual crap?”
I said, “Number one, it’s hard for you to stay low profile at your size and reputation, and number two, they’re my seats. I can do what I want to do.”
Was Karl there because it was the third anniversary of Larry H. Miller’s death?
Yes, I think he wanted to be there. I was a little disappointed with, obviously what Larry’s done for Salt Lake and the community, that there wasn’t some acknowledgement of that…which was maybe why I tried to show that Karl was there even though he said he wanted to keep a low profile…
I would’ve like to have seen just briefly, I didn’t want it to detract from the game, but acknowledge that this was Larry’s third anniversary and Karl was there.
Karl [asked me], “Did you realize that this was Larry’s third anniversary?” I was like, “No, actually I didn’t, Karl. I’m sure they’ll probably announce something at the game to that effect.” And I think both of us were a little disappointed that they didn’t. (KFAN)
