Is this really happening…
I haven’t even [officially] said goodbye to AK (as long as he stays in Europe, I can keep pretending), and now I have to say goodbye to Memo?!
Who was traded dumped for a trade exception and future 2nd round pick (in 2015. 2015!!)…that most likely doesn’t even exist?
KOC spun the trade like this:
You know what really gets me? The *classless* wording of the Jazz’s official press release (via @saltcityhoops):
Same with the official announcement on utahjazz.com. I am seriously flabbergasted that the organization would choose to word it like this:
The tweet below makes me actually hurt.
Farewell, Money Man. For all that you gave to the Jazz–all the Money! moments, playing hurt, and working so hard to get back–it shouldn’t have ended like this. I wish you’d been able to retire with the Jazz like you wanted to.
P.S. Read this.
I don’t recognize the Jazz anymore. I don’t recognize the owner. I don’t recognize the coaches. I don’t recognize the players.
Sad and happy leftovers:
*Sad* Enes Kanter on Memo trade: It was a surprise to me… I’m just still kind of sad and just try to get over it but it’s kind of sad because he was just like big brother to me so I’m just kind of sad. (KFAN)
So everything comes full circle…Memo gets to training camp and is sad not to see Andrei in the locker room. Now Enes is at training camp sad not to see Memo in the locker room. On an unrelated note, didn’t like how the KFAN crew kept asking Kanter for his reaction on getting more minutes now that Memo’s gone. Kind of like telling someone whose house just burned down, “Hey, you can get a new house now!”
*Happy* CJ Miles on Memo: He’s one of the most sarcastic people I’ve ever been around…He comes around the locker room, everybody knows “that’s how I roll,” comment he makes all the time. Or we’ll finish a suicide or 17 or something, he’ll scream out “So much fun!” Stuff like that. Memo, he’s the Money Man. He’s a great dude. (UJ)
