Game 78 @LAL: White Underaged [Some Poisonous Snake found in Indiana] FTW

April 6, 2011

The video this .gif came from was from practice yesterday. When I made the .gif, I was thinking that it would probably never see the light of day because it could possibly be disturbing. However, it seems perfect for this recap.

For all intents and purposes, this game was meaningless. It doesn’t change that we’re out of the Playoffs. It doesn’t change that we’ve lost eight straight. It doesn’t change that the season is over in a week.

The flip side of that is that we saw the future today, and the future is bright and shiny. I don’t know how long it will take the team to mesh. I don’t know how long it will take for us to start playing cohesive team ball again. What I do know is that KOC is cackling in his office and only a few extremely honest fans will own up to booing the selection of Gordon Hayward on Draft Night. (We should just stick to drafting only Bulldogs. Worked with Gonzaga. Worked with Louisiana Tech. Working out quite nicely with Butler.)

Gordon played like Gary Briggs had injected him with a vial of Ronnie P’s Laker-hating blood before tip-off, and what a sight he was to behold. He was doing everything all over the floor from hitting 3s and slamming it down to rebounding, dishing, and playing great defense.

Gordon was only half of it. The other half was Derrick Favors and his offensive boards and putbacks and defensive instinct. Holy smokes, Mailman. The future is bright indeed.

The Jazz played so hard today, for 48, that I wouldn’t have been too upset with a loss. They competed. That’s what’s most important to me. As long as they compete and fight, there are no bones to pick. P.S. Love having Earl Watson on the team. I feel calm and confident when he’s on the floor.

Random Stuff, etc.
** This one’s for the ladies! Tag team of Gary Briggs and Brian Zettler (recognizable in his signature green vest):

You’re welcome.

** With every new, wacky, random Fes injury, I always think “it’s time to cut the cord.” Then he says something funny, and I want to keep him forever. Here’s today’s example:

For a moment the pain of the last 3+ months was gone… The Jazz finally beat the Lakers at home and I am in love with GoGo HeyHey and Favors and Jeremy! I love Earl and Kyle! Fes is always a silver lining. Last night the planets aligned, the universe was at peace, and I was in ecstasy!
