Game 64 @NYK: Jazz suffering from interest distress
Sadly, that was all there was to love about this one. In recent weeks, it’s been
smooth improved sailing on offense while the defense sucked. Tonight, the offense caught up with the defense on the suckitude scale. I have never, in all my years as a Jazz fan, seen so many blown layups, blown dunks, bad 3s, passes to the opponent, alley-oop passes that went straight from the passer into the crowd, the opponent throwing so many balls off the Jazz, or so many Jazzmen standing around Boozeresquely watching balls bounce out of bounds.
This game just couldn’t be over fast enough, and Booner came up with the perfect simile in the post-game: “You know what this reminds me of? When you’re a little kid and you’re all alone [on a] road trip with your parents, and you’re looking at the clock. ‘Are we there yet???’” (KFAN)
It hurt that we were without Ronnie P, Memo, Fes, and Francisco at tip-off. It hurt that we lost AK at halftime and Millsap after the third quarter. But we’re Jazz fans! Our team doesn’t quit! Except, they kind of did tonight. Hopefully, they were just tired or something (and yes, put that on the list of things I never thought I’d ever say).
Bright spot of the day: Jerry Sloan and Phil Johnson were honored by the Utah Legislature earlier Monday.
