Game 60 @DET: Back to the Jazz we know and…know

February 27, 2011

Tip–AK alley-oop–AK rebound–AK dunk. Andrei either scored or assisted 14 of the Jazz’s first 16 points, and it looked like we were en route to Ty Corbin’s second career win.

The Jazz shot 59% for the night, collected assists on 39 of their 44 FGs, and got to the line 34 times against a Pistons team in complete disarray.* And lost.

We looked great on offense [as long as the starters + Favors were in], but I’m not sure the Jazz could’ve defended a team made up of their kids on the other end. Yup. That’s about it.

*The Pistons’ Front Office guys are p*ssies. I can’t believe Hamilton and his gang were allowed into the arena, much less sit on the bench.

Random Stuff, etc.
** Jerry and Phil, forever joined at the hip, right? Even more than we know. Coincidentally, it was Senior Night at both of their alma maters (Evansville and Utah State, respectively) tonight, and Jerry and Phil were both in attendance.

Evansville and Utah State both won. Jerry was among 100 former Purple Aces in attendance at the Evansville game, which was the last men’s basketball game to be held at Roberts Stadium.

Unintentional Dirty Quote Machines of the Night
** Boler on Ty: He was up all night last night.
** Matty: He can really get up and show you something if he wants to.
** Boler: Kirilenko having his way all night down low.
** Boler…sore groin. You have to wonder when it’s going to come to a head.
