Game 54 Jazz West vs. Jazz East: It’s what happened AFTER the game that matters…

I didn’t think anything of it when Jerry met with the other coaches and KOC immediately after the game and said that he would have an announcement tomorrow. Then I got on Twitter and read an entire timeline’s worth of “Sloan resigning?” tweets. My stomach is now in knots, I have a buzzing sense of foreboding on the back of my neck, and the room keeps tilting.

I hope I’m just an overreacting Jazz fan and will be feeling so stupidly silly this time tomorrow. However, I’m jettisoning most of the recap I’d written. Can’t think right now because of the following (recap down below):

This was a confusing game to say the least. Not only did we have three of last season’s Jazz players in Bulls uniforms, we also had in the arena:
** Two CJs
** Two Watsons
** Two Ronnies
** Two Turkish centers
** The Original Bull, Jerry Sloan, coaching the Jazz
** He of 1998 NBA Finals Jazz-Bulls blown call fame, Dick Bavetta

To sum up the game:
** Millsap was hot early; Boozer was benched for his ‘Tag hands and inability to defend Sap
** Jazz are throwing UP shots that don’t go in instead of throwing DOWN shots that do go in
** At the half: Bulls 44, Jazz 41. Bench points: Jazz 1, Bulls 11
** Miserable basketball
** Jazz bench scores its second point at the 10:30 mark in the 4th
** AK free throw makes it a one-point game with 1:28 remaining. Deron then throws the ball away on the next 3 possessions. AK saves the first TO with a block at the other end, but the Jazz have to foul the second and third times.
** Bulls hit all four FTs, Deron misses a 3; Jazz lose.
** Did I mention the Jazz went 11-21 from the FT line?
** On positive note, Big Al is playing quality basketball lately and is looking real comfortable in the system.

Unintentional Dirty Quote Machines of the Night
** Boler: I like the fact that Millsap is up against Boozer tonight.
** Boler: That’s the second time Millsap’s been able to push it away from Boozer tonight. Matty: Millsap has active hands.
** Boler: Watson on Watson action.
** Matty: I know Dick is old.
** Matty: One word, Boler. Ouch.
** Nissalke on Millsap: When he gets it in deep, Boozer struggles with it in deep.
