Playoffs R2G2 @ LAL: Tale as old as time

May 5, 2010

What’s there to say that hasn’t already been said at least ten times in the past year? You didn’t really even need to watch the game to know how it went*:

1) Jazz kept it close, but were never a threat;
2) Boozer got blocked A LOT (three BAs by three different Lakers in the first nine minutes; 6 BAs for the game);
3) an agitated Jerry trying to direct the defense on the sidelines was moving his feet more than his players were;
4) Lakers’ three bigs dominated;
5) Ronnie P was a spark off the bench.

*unsustainable and unexpected hot start excepted.

There were bright spots: Millsap. Mansap. Matthews. Millslaps. Ronnie P. Millsap. However, I doubt anyone is in the mood for discussion of bright spots.

(Everyone knows I’m no Boozer fan, but somewhere along the season, I stopped hating him–mostly because he’s kept his mouth shut. Tonight, I actually felt sorry for him as I watched him get blocked and decimated for 48 minutes straight. And as I watched Mansap doing his thing, I have to wonder why Boozer–who is at least 2 inches taller than Sap–allows himself to be fish food.)

Deron’s post-game interview didn’t do much to inspire confidence with the series going back to SLC. He said as much as he could about the officiating without stepping into fine territory, but rather than being angry that he wasn’t getting calls, he looked defeated and accepting of his fate.

Just like me.

    The bright spot in last night’s game other than the Millsap show?

    Those pictures and their captions. Thanks for the laugh on an otherwise depressing morning.

Thoughts?
