Playoffs “Who Dressed Him?!”: Plaid is in
Towards the end of the season when Lebron was resting for the Playoffs (and Malone and Stockton were laughing at him and every other “star” that was doing the same), I noticed that LBJ was wearing a lot of plaid.
Since the Playoffs have started, plaid has exploded all over post-game press conferences.
We’ve seen everything from plaid jackets:

(I’m not sure if Brandon Jennings’ shirt qualifies as plaid or what it even is, but I’m including it because it sort of has squares on it.)
In my quick survey of post-game videos, it appeared that only players were wearing plaid; I didn’t see any plaid on coaches (or Jazz players, for that matter).
I would so pay to see a coach wearing Dwayne Wade or Stephen Jackson’s suits from the first picture. Most likely candidate? My money is on Don Nelson (but if Mike Dunleavy were still coaching, he’d be my number one suspect). On the Jazz…is there anyone other than Fes?
As basketbawful noted, it’s an epidemic.
Update 4/30 (rest):
Tim Duncan really loves the plaid. Or maybe its a Spurs thing. (H/T C, who is–if it’s not completely obvious by now–a Spurs fan.)

Update 5/1:
It’s starting to appear that it’s a select group of 5-7 that favors the plaid. KD and Birdman arriving at their respective games today:

Brandon Jennings’ shirt is classified as “Buffalo Plaid.”
Carmelo Anthony’s sweater looks like something my grandma would wear.
