vs. NO: Opponent Game Thread Highlights

March 21, 2010

SB Nation’s Hornets blog, At the Hive, had an unbusy game thread of 7 comments (which became 6 after a spam post was deleted). During timeouts, I uneffortly tried to find a Hornets blog with a game thread, and the best I came up with was Hornets Report’s forum, whose game post had 50+ comments.

The thread started off with:

Meh.

As we know by now, things only got worse for NO fans over the course of the night. What followed were complaints about (in chronological order):

1. West’s flagrant foul and ejection:
–“Flagrant 2?!?!?! Now that’s a buncha BS.”
–“Flagrant TWO? bull****”
–“thats some bull i seen worse fouls than that with no ejection”

2. The Hornets’ defense:
–“Our defense is brutal tonight.”

3. Thornton:
–“thorthon is just hard,if only he could finish with more dunks”

4. General:
–“What the Fack man.”

5. The defense again:
–“Pathetic defense. Play a zone or something.”
–“They not even trying.”

6. Posey:
–“F$*# POSEY!”
–“Stop it Posey”
–“I would be satisfied if moving Posey was the only move we made in the off-season.”

7. Wright:
–“WTF was Julian doing?!? Does he think Money-T is is friggin’ LeBron?”

8. The Hornets offense:
–[a picture of bricks]

9. Mo-Pete:
–“lol peterson 0-7 no points, posey 0-4 no points.”

10. The empty chatroom:
–“Wow, can’t believe you guys would rather post like this during gameday when the chat room is empty…”
–“Exactly its empty. Every time I go there its empty, I don’t know why. But I guess every body just post on the thread instead.”

11. Deron’s chicken dance:
–“Does it get any worse? Our opponents are on their bench doing the chicken dance…laughing at us.”
–“That irked me a lot. That laughing stock feeling.”
–“where the jazz doing the chicken dance?… *******s.”

The thread concluded with some looking to the future:
–“I have a feeling it will get worse before it gets better. That doesn’t bug me provided we improve our basketball operations, get a real coach and rebuild properly.”
–“I know the team cannot really change much in terms of the roster this summer but I’d really like to see whole sale changes in the front office and of course, a new coach.”

Finally, the critique of Boler and Booner’s commentating have improved with three straight opponent game threads, with one person even saying, “Utah has a pretty good play by play one of the best in the league in my opinion.”

(Yes, I am aware I re-posted 1/3 of the entire game thread.)
