Tonight’s Opponent Game Thread host body: Bullets Forever.

by jdgreger on Mar 16, 2010 10:30 AM CSTSheesh…
…number 44 on the Jazz is ginormous. Reminds me of Sabonis.

And here are a couple that sounded like they came right out of our game thread:
we’re taking a ton of longish jumpers
and missing all of them. wonder when we figure that out
by mr. 91 on Mar 16, 2010 9:17 AM CSTYeah – but
I’d like to see more JaVale BOXING OUT….. like against Okur on that last play.
I don’t think JaVale plays nearly as hard on Defense as he does on Offense
by Rook6980 on Mar 16, 2010 9:51 AM CSTi definitely agree
For every spectacular dunk he makes he gives up a cupcake inside.
by mr. 91 on Mar 16, 2010 9:54 AM CSTthis team is so soft defensively
i would love to see so really hard fouls.
by little stevie colter on Mar 16, 2010 10:05 AM CSTagreed
if there’s one thing i can’t stand it’s fouling a guy and giving him the bucket.

8 of the 68 (21%) comments on Bullets Forever’s game thread were complaints about Boler and Booner (“ridiculous homers,” “stupid super-excited announcer voice,” “announcing pricks!”). While recognizing the different perspective of non-Jazz fans, I don’t find B&B very homer-y and have heard much worse on other teams’ broadcasts (*cough* Golden State *cough* Sean Elliot *cough* Boston). (Incidentally, if they find Boler and Booner bad, imagine what they’d say if they had listen to our afternoon radio talk show hosts for 5 minutes.)

This column is hilarious. Please keep it going!
Also, as a Jazz fan living in Denver, I can tell you that the Denver announcers are TERRIBLE. I never realized how good we had it as Jazz fans until I heard these jokers on Altitude. It’s like Krusty the Klown and Sideshow Bob calling the plays.
will do!
i agree, i don’t think we have it half bad. i can see how fans of other teams might see it differently though, especially if they haven’t heard the truly bad announcing teams before.
Bullets?
Nope they are the Generals!
we’ve also seen the jazz being the generals on more than one occasion over the past 15 months…
