Game 67 vs. WAS: Slooooowest Blowout Ever
Don’t get me wrong. It’s great that we finally blew out a bad team after all those losses to the Clippers, Kings and the like. It was close the first quarter, which ended at 25-all. The next thing I knew, it was the third quarter and the score was 71-47. From that point on, time seemed to stand still.
Have to throw some praise Memo’s way. He sat out the last game due to a sore back, and could’ve gotten a painkilling injection. The catch was that he would’ve had to sit out tonight’s game as well. Memo Stockton-to-Malonesquely decided to play through and give it a go, and had a great all-around night (6-7 from the floor, 6 boards, 3 blocks).
Some Jazz notes:
–Paul Millsap is the only player in the NBA that can foul out during a blowout. And by “foul out,” I mean “get the shaft from the refs to the point of fouling out.”
–We got to see Jeffers for over five minutes. I really was half asleep by the time he checked in, but from what I saw he’s steady on defense.
–Deron, Boozer, KK, and Yatta all had good shooting nights.
–Speaking of KK, I’m pretty sure that little girl is planning her wedding. :-)
Two notes on Washington:
–I’m probably the only one that finds it amusing that the Bullets have both “Gee” and his Scottish brother, “McGee.”
–Oberto has Mike Miller’s old hair. I was momentarily confused when they showed Oberto from the back, because I knew I’d seen Miller earlier and he’d definitely had a haircut.
P.S. Maybe it’s time for CJ to take to Twitter again. After that thing, he went 29-48 (64%) over the next six games, culminating in a 9-12 performance on March 9th in Chicago. In the four games since then, he’s shot 12-42 (29%).
