Game 63 @ CHI: Why must there always be a “but”?

March 10, 2010

No slow start today. The Jazz were up and running from tip-off and kept up the scoring barrage for 48 minutes. That’s the good news.

The bad news? They let the Bulls do the same. They didn’t play an iota of defense in the first half, and let the Bulls shoot 63% through two. When you’re letting Brad Miller hit multiple treys, your defense gets an “F.” I’m pretty sure Jerry was having an aneurysm watching his team’s anti-D, while Norm Van Lier was rolling over in his grave.

If WHAT UP DOE CJ hadn’t been feeling it and hadn’t hit three treys in a 2-minute span midway through the 4th (and added one more in the closing minutes), this could very well have been a loss.

Am I asking too much? Is it me? Is consistency and equal effort on both ends of the floor too much to ask for?

For those that like a little more optimism, we won! Yay! We put up 132 points! Yay! East coast road trips and early game times rock! Yay!

You’re really getting the hang of that optimism thing!

I find nothing wrong with playing the first half to a near tie.

One, the opposing team displays their moves for all to see and get their arms around. Half time is for polishing the razor for the slashing to come. make adjustments and tweak the game plan.

Games are always won in the 4th qtr, not the first, rarely the second. Most points on the board at the end of the 4th… = win!

    BUT!!

We can’t play around with some teams in said manner, they too might just be hanging around doing the same thing and then it can become a FT contest in the last seconds. Though OK when we get the W, it sure makes the L bigger than life if such is what we come away with.

I like last nights game, it had good flow. Then all of a sudden it was hammer time, and the boom got lowered in fine fashion. Such is not going to happen every game, but when it does,……

    Ya gotta love it Baby!!!
