Game 59 – Kings of the ESA
Dammit. I jinxed AK. His shot was waaaaay off tonight. Ugh. (Reverse jinx, activate.)
Tonight’s hero was, once again, Brew Brew. He has broken through to a different stratosphere lately, and the Jazz are reaping the benefits. Ronnie went off for a career-high 26 points to go along with 7 boards and 4 steals, and most likely also broke his personal best for hang time. Memo had 26 on 9/12, DWill had 16 & 11, Sap had 8 & 12 and 2 steals and 2 blocks, and Boozer looked better on the bench than on the floor.
It seems that the Jazz’s main goal in the first half was to boost the confidence of KMart and McCants and get them going. They were very successful in that endeavor, and turned the ball over on 25% of their possessions in the half. It took until midway through the 4th for the Jazz to build and keep a comfortable lead, and they thankfully pulled it out in the end. A 10-1 February and hopes of HCA are still alive.
Oh, and Matty got a haircut.
